Is Dina Huapi part of Bariloche?
No. Dina Huapi has been a municipality of its own in the province of Río Negro since 2008, in the Pilcaniyeu department, 15 km from downtown Bariloche along National Route 40.
It lies on the south-eastern shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, right where the Limay river begins. For visitors it feels like a separate town: quieter, with a different pace.
Dina Huapi, if you want rest close to everything
A quiet town with pebble beaches and a lakeside promenade. Prices are usually lower than in Bariloche, and it's close to the airport.
A good base for families with children and for anyone getting around by car: the Limay river valley starts right there.
Bariloche, if you want everything at hand
The largest town in the corridor: the civic centre, restaurants, chocolate shops and the widest choice of tours leaving from town, from the Circuito Chico to Cerro Catedral.
It suits you if you travel without a car or want to eat out and get around on foot.
How to combine them
They're about 20 minutes apart by car along Route 40. Staying in Dina Huapi, Bariloche is a day out for sightseeing or skiing; staying in Bariloche, Dina Huapi is a short trip to the lake.
