Is this rental real?
Saw a cabin on Facebook or Instagram, or got it through WhatsApp? Paste the link, the listing text or the number you're talking to.
Before you send a deposit
Find the contact yourself
Don't use the phone or the link that come with the listing: go to the platform or the listing yourself and write from there.
Check the account holder
When you enter the alias or the CBU, your bank shows whose name the account is in. It has to be the person renting to you or the rental.
Ask for a video call from the place
Whoever has the rental can show it to you live, with the view from the window.
Search the photos
With Google Lens you can see whether the same photos show up in other listings, under another name or in another city.
If you found it on a platform, pay inside it
If they ask you to leave the platform and pay by bank transfer, be wary.
Be wary of rushing and very low prices
“I only have one left and if you don't pay the deposit today you'll lose it” is the usual line.
If you already transferred
- Call your bank as soon as you can and tell them what happened.
- Keep screenshots of the listing, the chat and the receipt.
- File a police report with those screenshots.

What this page checks
- Whether the link or the name belongs to a rental listed on Aoni Teema with a verified host.
- Whether the number you're talking to is the one the host of that rental confirmed through WhatsApp. We never show you their number: we only tell you if it matches.
- Whether an Airbnb link belongs to a host who linked it to their listing (they decide whether it's shown).
What it doesn't check
- It doesn't open any link.
- It doesn't look at bank accounts.
- It doesn't know whether the rental is available on your dates.
- The deal and the money stay between you and whoever rents to you.
Questions
Why don't you show me the host's number?
Because it's theirs. If you already have a number, we tell you whether it matches: showing it would let someone copy it into a fake listing.
If you don't find it, is it a scam?
No. Most rentals in the area aren't on Aoni Teema yet. Not finding it means only that.
If the number matches, can I pay?
A match tells you whose number it is, not which account you'll pay. Before you transfer, always check the account holder.
Do you keep what I paste?
No. We compare it and discard it. We only count how many checks there were per day, with what result, in which language and which site you came from, without what you pasted.
I'm a host: how do travelers check that it's me?
List your rental on Aoni Teema, pass identity verification and confirm your number through WhatsApp from your profile. If you sync your Airbnb calendar, you can turn on the box so your listing's link is recognized.
